Such a lovely natural project, not to mention royally exciting: following a fun commission earlier this year for the Radio Times and Alan Titchmarsh, it was an honour to create a bouquet fit for HM The Queen, in celebration of Alan’s forthcoming ITV program, The Queen’s Garden.
Alan has spent a fascinating year exploring the extensive grounds at Buckingham Palace, in preparation for a two-part documentary starting on Christmas Day. During the course of his regular visits he learnt that the Palace gardeners create a weekly bouquet for the Queen using a selection of seasonal flowers. They shared the plant list for December and thus Zita was approached to hand tie the posy that might be presented to The Queen at this time of year. Here it is, in all its glory, gracing the pages of the legendary double issue of the Radio Times, handmade by Zita Elze.
