Ukrainian student Svitlana Oliinyk Mashtaler’s dreamlike landscape is filled with nature’s soft summer bounty: “I wanted everything to be very simple but filled with enchantment, catching the freedom and innocence of my country’s rich culture and history in the wind dancing through a field of wheat, ripe for harvesting.” Svitlana completed the advanced wedding floristry design master class with a final project which fulfilled her aim: a contemporary wedding story steeped in Ukrainian traditions.
“I was impressed with how Zita captured my idea and explored the concept with me, to illustrate nature’s pure generosity. It is really incredible how she can see everything through the prism of her fine-tuned artistic notions of beauty. You could compare it to music, when each note has its own place, creating a perfect harmony. Sometimes I caught myself thinking: she is in touch with a special secret, how to outperform nature!
I have to say it was my dream to do this class. I knew that it would change all my thoughts and open up new possibilities in my mind.” See more of Svitlana’s unerringly sensitive floral work on her Instagram page.
“Svitlana’s project was very interesting! I had a lovely time working with her, guiding her creative search and helping her to translate her vision from concept through development to final implementation. She is such a lovely soul and what a beautiful bridal décor! I wish her all the very best with her floral future.” Zita Elze, 2017
