Our final Wedding Stories post, photographed in Kew Gardens’ historic Nash Conservatory, features reception flowers designed by Ji Yeong Kim, Youngson Song and Bora Ju, all professional florists and designers, on a special Advanced Wedding Design Master Class devised by Zita and co-organised by Daisy Bhang.
Youngson was inspired by the enticing graphic shapes of sliced apples, Bora was drawn by the poetry of passionfruit vines and flowers and Ji Yeong’s class research led to visions of gilded finishes and circular forms. Collaborating as a team they added pomegranates to the fruit mix and created an infused tea theme. Their imaginary wedding reception designs were applied with touches of gold to the seating plan tree, tables, place settings, centrepieces and candelabra. A gloriously golden 4-tier cup-themed cake was commissioned from Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium, while the talented Stephanie Gill from Richmond Calligraphy hand painted fruit for the tree and tables and created chic black and gold lettered menu cards.
With special thanks to Jones Hire for use of their sumptuous linens, fine glassware and china, chargers and gilded cutlery, as well as the main tables. The black and gold Victoria Ghost Chairs and brass and glass tables were from Greathire.
