We were thrilled to be back at The Dorchester for this year’s gathering of Indian and Neo South Asian fashion glitterati, Aashni + Co’s 5th Wedding Show.
Zita’s latest awe-inspiring design created an extraordinary aura of calm in the luxury hotel’s ballroom, playing with the historic interior’s pastels and golds through natural strokes of painterly greens and highlights of pink, mauve and purple.
Perfectly composed around a central water feature crossed by the hushed lines of a pair of white carpeted bridges, the space also encompassed several tableaux showcasing iconic couture dresses and the floral artist’s signature arrangements.
A gown by the one and only Manish Malhotra created a sublime soft focus in the middle of the pond, its graceful train etching a beguiling gossamer pattern into the dark waters, mirrored by sculptural strands of floating foliage.
Among others, Jayanti Reddy, Amit Aggarwal and Abhinav Mishra’s sumptuous dresses also offered elegant notes of glistening finery amidst Zita’s ethereal wedding flower designs.
A beautiful model, made up and coiffed by make-up maestro Ambreen, wore a fairy tale gown by Gaurav Gupta next to one of Zita’s exquisite floral fantasies, its lacy petals and textured leaves creating the most delicate tonal cascade of colour against the snowy gravel underfoot.
Zita was delighted to design flowers for Manish Malhotra and a handful of other couturiers’ stands at the show. A sweets table featuring Cakes by Krishanthi‘s immaculate and delicious creations also attracted much attention.
With special thanks to Aashni Shah and her team, Krishanthi Armitt and ZE Flower Academy students Yunxi Li, Taylor Lee, Salinna Ma and Yeon Gyu Kim.
