With Chelsea Flower Show and the Chelsea Fringe just a few days away we’ve got floral installations and fresh flower gowns on our minds. We’re turning back the page to this year’s Aashni + Co Wedding Show and revisiting Somerset House where Zita chose to mix up the traditional blonde Cinderella bringing her princess style into the 21st century. Here she is resplendent in a romantic gown handmade and embroidered in the soft textures and tones of mauve sea lavender.
Elsewhere in this spectacular couture show designers’ rooms, including the superlatively elegant Elan’s, were dressed in floral garlands and luxurious pedestal and vase arrangements. Guests travelled down corridors laced with foliage and rose laden arches and ascended Somerset House’s famous Nelson staircase. This was bedecked in ribbons tied with flower-filled golden slippers which danced in the natural light, leading up the jewellery department. Cinderella’s legendary single lost shoe, brimming with flowers, glistened in the stairwell with a playful wink to Disney.
