A fairy tale fantasy layered in whites, Zita’s snowdrop banqueting table celebrates nature’s subtle transition from winter to spring. Imagine a woodland scene dusted in the very last snowfall of the season. In the crisp light of a clearing overhung with branches draped in catkins, a magical table is set for 40. Dozens of crystal chandeliers run down the middle flanked by thousands of fresh snowdrops leading to a dramatic centrepiece – a huge stone urn overflowing with mossy whiteness shot with bright spring greens. The finest glasses, white crockery, transparent engraved place settings and menu cards all glisten in the soft sunlight under a fine blanket of snow.
Zita’s tablescape, created to mark her appointment as the new London Floral Artist in Residence for the RHS Early Spring Plant Fair, was dressed with china, glass and cutlery from Jones Hire (who also supplied the tables and linen), featured dining chairs and crystal chandeliers from Greathire, and was decorated with foliage from Bayntun Flowers, with supplementary snowdrops from Summerdale Garden Nursery.
