A special advanced wedding design master class was devised in April for a talented group of professional florists and designers from Korea. The week began at the Zita Elze Design Academy and ended in Kew Gardens’ iconic Nash Conservatory, with a styled shoot showcasing the students’ collaborative tour de force.
Su Youn Park and Youngso Yun designed and set up the entrance area and ceremony flowers. Youngso was inspired by rocks, twigs and moss while Su Youn was drawn to the fluid lines of a textured paper. Working as a team they combined their ideas to reflect the dynamic between these tactile surfaces. Outside a large stone container overflowing with flowers was the centrepiece, inside sculptural trees dressed in a fine mesh of branches and delicate white florals.
A big thank you to Kew Gardens’ fabulous Wedding and Events team for allowing the area outside the 19th Century glasshouse to be decorated more lavishly than might usually be considered safe for real events. Thanks to GreatHire for their Masters chairs and luminous crystal candelabra.
